The conceptual system proposes creating a new cost effective and green transport mode for moving food supplies.

Foodtubes is an ambitious project that takes inspiration from underground gas and oil pipelines and proposes moving the transportation of food supplies from highways and trucks to pipelines lodged underground.

The hypothetical project involves setting up lightweight, high-speed capsules that would travel through underground dedicated pipelines, carrying supplies from food producers to retailers. The team behind Foodtubes believes that unlike present transportation modes that are inefficient and contribute substantially to pollution, pipelines are more effective in moving food and consumer goods and could be operated at all times of the day and in any conditions, benefiting both the economy and the environment.
