Digital Science has created a replica of an ancient Greek device used for astronomy calculations. The Antikythera Mechanism was initially built in 100BCE and rediscovered in a shipwreck in 1901. The video below explains how individual gears contribute towards accurate calculations. As a side note, it also reminds us of John Gruber’s observation on the increased production value of promotion videos.
