Nick Denton, founder  and proprietor of Gawker Media revealed his decision to change the company’s current template in 2011, noting how not since the launch of both Gizmodo and Gawker in 2002 has there been a major update to the publishing model. At first glance, a simplified description of the new layout illustrates the merger of magazine, television, and blog, but Denton explains his reasoning for evolving Gawker beyond the blog format.  Below, are a few of the key points expressed by Denton:
