With the new Google Translate app, Android phone users can now converse in Spanish and English even if they don’t know these languages. The mobile phone app, which will be released in trial version, features a conversation mode which records a user’s speech, converts it into text, translates and then sends its audio in the new language back to the phone. Concurrently, the other speaker’s words will be translated into their original tongue.

Currently, phone users will have to “submit” each statement as they speak but eventually, the app will enable conversing in real time, Google said.
