955 Dreams has just released a new application for the iPad called the “History of Jazz”. As a tablet device, the iPad has attracted projects that seek to expand upon the definition of an ebook or magazine. More of a curated magazine than an ebook, the History of Jazz features a series of timelines, songs, videos and other interactive content. It forgoes typical page turning simulation in favor of a more fluid interactive movement across several different types of media. The app includes the ability to play music over Apple Airplay as well as access to downloadable content and Wikipedia pages.
