Academy Awards executive director Bruce Davis is afraid of a potential fiasco due to the notorious artist's reputation.

The good news: Banksy's feature Exit Through the Gift Shop has been nominated for Best Documentary at the upcoming Academy Awards. The not-so-good-news: the Academy has denied the popular enigmatic street artist the privilege of attending the ceremony incognito for fear of impostors, says Academy executive director Bruce Davis. Of the potential fiasco Banksy's anonymity might trigger, Davis says:

“The fun but disquieting scenario is that if the film wins and five guys in monkey masks come to the stage saying, ‘I’m Banksy’, who the hell do we give it to?”
