Agora Uses Foursquare And Twitter To Help You Make Friends
A new app sends you a tweet after you’ve checked-in suggesting who you should connect with in your immediate geographical location.
The Agora app uses your check-ins on Foursquare to introduce you to people in your location who share similar interests. This takes place in real-time, with the app looking for those who are checked-in near you and then using your Twitter accounts to ascertain what interests you have in common.
Using the Twitter API, it works out a score based on your similarities and sends you, and the other users nearby, a tweet telling you who should meet, with a link to their Twitter account and your compatibility score in brackets. As the work is done through Twitter, those you meet don’t need to have the app for it to work.
