While the U.S. struggles to bring Amtrak into the 21st century, China is surpassing us in style. Tianjin is home to just one of the many new high-speed rail stations that have been cropping up all over the country. These super-fast trains can travel upwards of 400 km/hour and are being housed in architecturally slick structures to match their futuristic speeds. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) this station is scheduled to be completed later this year.
