Agency Starts In-House Communications School
Los Angeles-based 72andSunny is launching 72U, an internal communications to expose students to new ways of thinking, collaborating, tackling modern communication problems, and real agency life.
Agency heads are quick to lament the hardships associated with finding and retaining quality talent, faulting an overall lack of training. One agency decided not to sit idly by and wait for the problem to be miraculously solved. Los Angeles based, 72andSunny is launching 72U, an internal communications school. With classes beginning in July, the 10-month intensive program will expose between eight and fourteen students to new ways of thinking, collaborating and tackling modern communication problems. 72U will offer projects, coursework and hands-on learning (students take part in hands-on projects at the agency) for a tuition fee of around $10,000. The agency’s strategy director, Kelly Schoeffel and creative director, Geoff McGann will serve as the school’s directors. Kelly Schoeffel explains the school’s aim:
