An iPhone app offers interactive French lessons for those whose aims are more social than academic.

As anyone who works in art, fashion, or design knows, at some point in time you will be expected to say something in French (whether the name of a brand, a label, or an artist), and the quickest way to show your worldliness (or lack thereof) is through pronunciation. If you are one of the lucky few who actually gets to fly to Paris for work, knowing basic everyday phrases (as well as savvy colloquialisms) can be a key to success. However, not many of us have the time to sit and study–especially when rushing from cab, to airport, to plane, to meeting, and (if we’re lucky to the restaurant).
