Have some old skateboard decks laying around? If so, you’d fancy the limited-edition series Grove + MapleXO Skateboard iPhone 4 Cases. The 50-piece collection was crafted from old skateboard decks and are a collaborative effort between Grove, artisan case makers and Lindsay Holmes of MapleXO, who recycles skateboards into jewelry and other accessories. The craftsmanship involved in creating the iPhone cases was a year-long process which consisted of slicing and sanding 300 skateboards into layered strips. The strips were then hand color-coordinated then glued together, forming the squares of the iPhone cases. Lastly, the cases were packaged in bamboo boxes with additional layered skateboard panels inserted into their ends. There are a few cases left which you can bid on via eBay, with 50% of the proceeds benefitting the Oregon Humane Society.
