A lucky winner with the best idea will have the opportunity to realize their vision at a unique market opening soon in Brooklyn, NY.

Later this year, a new retail and event venue will debut in downtown Brooklyn called Dekalb Market. The project will be the first of its kind in the NYC area to be constructed from salvaged shipping containers. The innovative site will host an incubator farm, food market, events and performance venue, and a collection of eateries and work-sell spaces.

Urban Space, who are behind the project, are sponsoring a competition to select the most creative and innovative use for a shipping container. Art Gallery? Flash Factory? Container Restaurant? They are looking for ideas which excel in design quality, sustainability, community impact and entrepreneurial creativity.
