My Top Tips for Filmmakers

1. Change your script to fit the location, not the location to fit the script. It’s much cheaper that way (courtesy of Ken Loach).

2. If you are planning to shoot at a difficult or challenging location, always take a camera / stock on the scout, you never know what you might see or find. Chances are, a spectacular event will take place and never happen again. When you return with the main unit or if it does, you’ll be stuck shooting a key dialogue scene pointing in the opposite direction (courtesy of Terrence Malick)
