A location-based app for the typeface devotee, lets you snap, upload and map your favorite fonts.

The current geotagging app craze is nowhere near over, and the latest niche group to jump on the bandwagon are the typography enthusiasts, lovingly referred to as “typenerds.” Typeplace is a location-based, typography app that allows you to geotag the favorite fonts in your area, or encountered in your travels and upload them to your twitter feed. After you snap a pic, the photo is uploaded to Typeplace, geotagged, mapped and then fed back into sharing applications like Twitter to allow other font fanatics to enjoy your contribution and maybe even seek it out themselves. You can add friends within the app like Instagram, and reward badges reminiscent of Foursquare are given out for user participation.
