IKEA’s Quirky Cat-Loving Documentary [Video]

IKEA's 'Pussy People' is an entertaining, conversation-provoking video about cat lovers & owners - that offers a subtle nod and tie back to the brand.

We were recently introduced to a recent mini-documentary (or mockumentary?) developed by IKEA as a follow-up to last year’s ‘Happy Inside‘ spot. While that spot starred cats frolicking in an IKEA store – as a reminder that home is how it makes you feel (specifically, happy to be wrapped up in the retailer’s wares) – the current video stars those cats’ owners. ‘Pussy People‘ looks into the lives of those individuals – cat owners & lovers – and how they feel & identify with being a cat owner and lover.

We loved this piece of branded entertainment for its humorous approach to what can oftentimes be a polarizing pet – cats – and for its subtle relationship with and nod to the IKEA brand. Whether you love cats or not, there are some things that universally make people smile – the passion and quirkiness depicted in IKEA’s ‘Pussy People’ is arguably one of those.
