The airline will be the first in the world to offer this novel retail experience.

Korean Air has recently unveiled plans to become the first airline to offer duty-free shops on a plane. The new flying store will be installed on their 10 Airbus A380 jumbo jets, with the first entering service on June 10th.

Five units will be able to display up to 64 individual items, with alcohol, cosmetics and perfume on offer.  Bottles have a strong magnet on the bottom, keeping them in place on the shelves. However, if there is strong turbulence, the shop has to be emptied out. The cosmetics company Lancome has become the first brand to purchase advertising space inside the shop.
