Mercedes-Benz Debuts A-Class Concept Powered By Auto Executives
Auto show reveals are already high pressure events when everything goes right, Mercedes execs had to think quick when their debut hit a snag.
As we’ll show you over the next two days at the 2011 NY Auto Show, car reveals are big opportunities for automakers to both generate excitement over new products and highlight new transportation innovations. Today at the Shanghai Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz hoped to make a splash with their highly styled new Concept A small car. The car was intended to drive out demonstrating its 200-horsepower BlueEfficiency engine. Something went wrong though and Mercedes executives who were on stage for the presentation had to hand push the car out from behind the curtain. Unofficially, this may be the most green and expensive powerplant ever debuted at an auto show. Hat tip to the execs who quickly realized the show must go on.
