Microfinancing In America [Video]
Microlending pioneer Professor Muhammad Yunus, wants to bring his services to the United States.
Bangladeshi economist Professor Muhammad Yunus founded Grameen Bank as a new approach to banking for poor women in Asia. His venture was founded on the idea that “if you loan poor women money within the context of peer support, not only will they repay, but they’ll sustain the bank and elevate their communities in the process.”
To Catch a Dollar is a documentary born of Professor Yunus’s quest to bring microfinancing to America. Targeting underprivileged families (and single mothers specifically), the new economic system has had monumental success with many cases in Asia.
