A review of the scientific developments in medicine has suggested that pills which can alter people's moral behavior will soon be prevalent in society. The recently released ‘Enhancing Human Capacities‘ includes a chapter on the science and ethics of moral enhancement.

Drugs that effect our thinking and behavior, such as Prozac and Oxytocin, already exist, but scientists are predicting that in the future, they will be able to manipulate it in a much more sophisticated way.

These pills may have uses in the criminal justice system as a crime preventative. Guy Kahane, deputy director of the Oxford Centre for Neuroethics talked of another possible application: tackling global issues,
