A miniature model unearths a cross-section of New York City to capture the energy of the city.

Sculptor Alan Wolfson created his Canal St. Cross-Section with strict attention to the minutia that makes living in New York City so interesting. The design is not an exact replica of the city block, but rather an homage to the melting pot of converging cultures lining the historical NYC street. For example, the Canal Rubber store is modeled after the landmark store that has been around since 1954, but the pizza place is inspired by restaurant somewhere on 8th Avenue. A massage parlor rounds off the diverse cultural spectrum comprising Canal Street.
