Starwood Hotels Implements a Foursquare Loyalty Program
Starwood's new partnership with Foursquare places a firm focus on customer loyalty.
Starwood Hotels – which includes W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin, St Regis and Four Points – has begun a partnership with Foursquare that will allow members to earn rewards based on a check-in points based system. Members who connect their SGP accounts with Foursquare and who check in to participating hotels will earn 250 Starpoints points whenever they confirm a reservation. Awards include a Free Resort Night that will be hidden daily at random hotels. Each check-in will also enter participants into a chance to win from several getaway packages from now until May 31st.
While mayorships are still part of the program, rather than offer rewards for the achievement, Starwood is asking their mayors to take the responsibility to share their experiences and tips with other travelers.
The promotion will run through July 31st, 2011 with more benefits being added in August.
