Time lends its iconic cover to Activision as a preorder incentive for the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 video game.

Time Magazine's recognizable cover, featuring the red border and nameplate, is being used by Activision as a promotion for their upcoming release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, due out in November.

The fake cover depicts a war-torn Wall Street with smoke and debris. The headline reads “World Stands On The Brink”. It will be used as promotional material and as a preorder incentive at GameStop stores nationwide.

This is the first time that Time has allowed its cover to be used to promote a commercial product. It's publisher, Kim Kelleher, commented:
