The start-up's CEO introduces new policies to repair customer trust and protect their safety.

After admitting to a failure in customer service following recent reports of hosts coming back to vandalized houses, Airbnb's chief executive Brian Chesky has introduced a guarantee, which will be in place from August 15th, and a new safety section for the website.

The $50,000 Airbnb Guarantee will protect the property of hosts from damage by Airbnb guests who book reservations through the website and will also be offered retroactively to any hosts who have suffered property damage in the past.
