Can An ‘Augmented City’ Become A Reality?

Augmented reality has sparked a number of innovations in advertising and visual entertainment, but can it be of further constructive use? Metaio, a company that specializes in developing augmented reality projects, shows the potential and practicality of virtual projections in their upcoming appearance at insideAR conference in Munich, Germany, Sept. 26 – 27.

The theme for their project is ‘From a Vision to a Roadmap,’ illustrated in the video demonstration below:

It highlights a smaller-scale of their vision for the ‘Augmented City,’ which is brought to life-scale model of a fictional city. The demo was created by Metaio and the Media Processing Division of semiconductor company ARM.
