The rock star-turned-artist has designed a temporary installation for the Pace Gallery.

A temporary, site-specific installation by David Byrne will be on view for two weeks under the High Line, in a space recently acquired by the Pace Gallery. Before construction work starts on the gallery's expansion, Byrne will fill the empty lot with a 48-by-20 foot inflatable globe.

Entitled ‘Tight Spot,' the largescale outdoor installation will be fitted with speakers, emitting a low frequency vibration using the artist's voice. This sound is meant to be heard from the surrounding streets and elevated park, and is designed to entice passersby to discover the installation. The inflatable sculpture can be viewed from September 16th to October 1st at 508 West 25th Street, New York.
