NBC 10 Philadelphia in the U.S. has partnered up with foursquare to offer live coverage of events as they happen. A reporter from NBC 10 will use the station’s foursquare account to check in at locations where he is currently reporting from. The event location and regular updates would be publicly available to follow. Followers of the NBC 10 page can enable push notification and be notified when the reporter has checked in within 25 miles. The follower may very well be the first person to know about the local news story, ahead of the news station website.
