Real-World Drone Avatar Projects Video In Midair
The latest project from Sony is a blimp that reflects a projected image from a video feed or camera to create a life-like avatar.
Sony Computer Science Laboratories revealed its latest project: a Face-to-Avatar concept that streams video from a live feed or directly from a camera and projects it onto a motorized blimp. The blimp is equipped with a front-facing camera, microphone, built-in projector and WiFi module that allows it to broadcast live video in midair. This combination of UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) and telepresence technology that combines to create the first real-world drone avatar is still in the development stage and not expected to be marketable for another few years.
