Ryan Frank created a unique furniture collection with reclaimed wood providing a comfortable place for people and plants.

Designer Ryan Frank has created a custom collection of furniture for the Terrace Bar & Food, a sustainably-led restaurant at the National Theatre, London. Taking inspiration from the new direction the restaurant was going in terms of ingredient sourcing, Frank designed a series of benches, tables and stools using salvaged timber. Each of the pieces have casters attached to so they can be easily moved and reconfigured.

A unique element Frank integrated into the furniture are built-in planters which the staff use to cultivate herbs and flowers. The addition of live plants adjacent to where patrons sit creates a connection between the guests and natural ingredients which the chefs can use in dishes on the menu. The flowers help to attract some bees, which work to pollinate plants and keep the small garden healthy.
