The advent of crowdsourcing was supposed to bring a wave of creativity with it, however the transition to the advertising world seems to be a little more complicated. Yet, Duck Tape’s ‘Stuck on Duck Video Project’ seems bent on changing this. The Tron themed ad was created by members of Tongal, a site that allows companies to outsource filmmaking to internet users. Duck Tape’s spot is the first of its kind to have gained such acclaim and winners Ryactive, a San Francisco based team, have been rewarded with both a $5000 prize and a review no short of praise from Wired. The stop motion creation will hopefully pave the way for future successful crowdsourced ad content.
