The large corporation informs customers they will no longer be able to download music from its online store.

Walmart has informed customers who have downloaded music from it’s online store that it will no longer be offering this service as of August 29th. Launched in 2004, it has had to compete with the likes of Apple’s mighty iTunes and Amazon’s MP3 store.

When it closes its digital doors later this month there will still be continued support for those who have purchased and downloaded music from them in the past and people with credit left on an MP3 music gift card will automatically receive a Walmart eGift card of equal value. Also, Walmart Soundcheck will remain operational as a live streaming site with no download options.
