Zappar uses AR technology to create a series of playful animated t-shirts

What does fashion look like in an augmented world? Zappar is answering that question with their line of t-shirts that spring to life when a computer or smartphone camera is pointed at them. The t-shirts not only animate, but some of them are even interactive games that invite users to play. The AR animations and games are viewable using the Zappar app that is available through the iTunes store.

Since the images on the t-shirts require the app and don't present themselves as being Augment Reality enabled, prior-knowledge of their capabilities is required to bring them to life. Their novelty brings to mind the potential for more ubiquitous AR clothing that is tailored to its wearers communicates information about them or even plays short films. Maybe one day, people could literally wear information or become walking, interactive animated versions of themselves.
