The online retailer is testing a new system that allows customers to have a package sent to a 7-Eleven store near their home.

A few days ago, GeekWire discovered Amazon's delivery locker system at a 7-Eleven in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. The new system would let Amazon customers pick up their packages from the store if they won't be home to receive them.

A customer shopping on Amazon's website could select a nearby 7-Eleven to have their package dropped off at. They would then receive an email notification along with a bar code to use on their smartphone. The machine on the locker system scans the bar code on the phone and displays a PIN number, which needs to be punched in to retrieve the package.
