The web-based tool will enable users to send reports to Apple and receive useful tips and repair information.

There are reports that Apple has internally announced a new diagnostics tool for iOS devices. The web-based tool works remotely by sending an email with a URL link to your device. When Safari loads the URL, Apple will begin running tests to check for problems and offer a solution based on any malfunctions it detects.

The diagnostic tool can remotely check the device’s health, battery level, the duration since the last full charge, minimum level at which the battery was discharged, which version of iOS you have installed, and whether your phone switched off properly the last time. This tool is likely to be made available with the new iOS 5 when it is released.
