Doctors use imaging devices for CT scans, MRIs and x-rays that rely on tomography to capture images of your anatomy in “slices”.  Whereas these procedures and examinations used to require a scalpel, today they use powerful body imaging technology to safely see what’s happening under our skin.

GE provides a wide variety of these body imaging devices and in this video they transform objects like fruit, a baseball, a hairdryer and a violin, to create an analog representation of how tomography captures these image slices:
