The Hotel Americano in Chelsea, New York, which recently opened its doors, offers guests a must-have app for their stay. The free app provides connections to room service and the hotel's facilities, and a comprehensive city guide that is constantly updated.

With information about shopping, dining, activities, culture and nightlife, guests can plan their itinerary from the comfort of their room. The hotel asked a few of its friends to provide personal recommendations in New York City, including architect Enrique Norton and creative legend Richard Pandiscio.
