Spanish architects create a futuristic pharmacy with large text filling the double-height shop window.

Clavel Arquitectos designed and completed this modern vision of a pharmacy in Murcia, Spain. Work on the 180 square meter space was carried out in just two months. 3D text of the word “Farmacia” takes up the two floors of the frontage, with the door located under the letter F. This provides protection from the sun during the day and lights up at night, giving the street a soft glow.

The design incorporates just two colours, chemist’s green for the floor and the ceiling, and white for the furniture and the frontage. The shelving units are self-lit and seem to float in the air, while their recesses offer space for product displays. Behind the rotating sales counter, a sliding glass door leads through to the laboratory and cloakroom, with a robotized drug storeroom located on the next level.
