Onavo's iPhone app saves users money by compressing the phone's data usage, meaning they can get more out of their data plan.

With companies like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile moving away from unlimited mobile broadband options, customers are seeking new ways to reduce their data usage costs. Onavo, which launched earlier this year, helps iOS users reduce the amount of monthly bandwidth on their 3G-enabled iPhones and iPads.

The mobile data management and compression app makes data consumption efficient, transparent and manageable. It runs in the background, compressing data usage from all apps, and allows users to double or even triple their existing data plan, with savings of up to 80%. Onavo also shows users which apps are costing them money with a breakdown of each app and its data usage.
