The location-based social network Foursquare announced this week that it has reached the impressive milestone of one billion check-ins. To mark the occasion, they put together this data visualization showing a week of check-ins. Locations around the world light up the map as people there check-in at different times of the day. The analytical data was visualized using open source programs Processing and TileMill. You can check it out below:
