London transportation authorities have launched a new online service where commuters can search and see bus arrival times in real-time.

London transport service Countdown quietly launched in beta mode to show the arrival times of buses at certain stops across the city. The new service lets travelers locate the nearest bus station and the service will estimate the arrival times of upcoming buses. The online service may prove to be very useful for commuters, allowing them to better organize their time to get around London's massive network of more than 18,500 bus stops.

The new service attracted designer James Darling who has already created a web-based app using Countdown's data. The app refreshes every 15 seconds to provide users with bus arrival times almost in real-time.
