The next generation Defender's tough image gets softened and more high tech.

Set to formally debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Land Rover DC100 is a new concept which might become the next Defender model. Land Rover is intending to build a new Defender which will arrive in showrooms in 2015. The DC100 shows the results of the designers directing the vehicle in a more refined and sleeker direction. Classic Defender models were heavy on utility and function which was reflected in their rugged and purposeful appearance.

Limited information and photos are available now about the new concept. We can see some of the styling details like the Freelander influenced front grille and headlights. The back roof support pillars appear to be an open lattice structure.
