Social lobby areas are becoming a hot trend in the hospitality industry. For years, hotel lobbies were sterile environments where guests only spent time waiting for a cab or grabbing the newspaper. Now, many hotels are embracing the idea of making lobbies more engaging with interactive touchscreen TVs, comfortable seating complete with charging plugs for laptops and other perks designed to make guests feel more at home. Free Wi-Fi and also Happy Hours are also a ‘must have’ for modern hotel lobbies.

The new concept has proven to be very appealing for guests, especially for those traveling alone. Well-known hotel chains like the Hyatt, Marriot and Hilton have already transformed their lobbies to be more friendly and social.
