Location-Aware Album App Plays Music According To Where You Are
Bluebrain turns Central Park's GPS data into music to accompany you while you stroll through.
Bringing musical experiences to non-musical zones is part of BlueBrain’s mission. The duo, Hays & Ryan Holladay, created an iPhone app that generates music based on where you are. The musical experience is co-determined by the app user as she or he wanders in a given area.
Their most recent work, titled Listen to the Light, is the latest application of their location-aware soundtracks. Their first album was created on the National Mall in Washington D.C., their hometown. Unlike the National Mall, however, Central Park occupies much larger plots of land with more diverse activities.
