Architect design firm Perkins+Will in Chicago, USA, has provided a comprehensive list online of building materials that can pose as health threats. The Transparency Site aims to make harmful materials more transparent to the industry and the public. The main categories include precautionary list, asthma triggers, and Flame Retardants. There’s also a wealth of information to be found on the online library.

Peter Syrett, Associate Principal at Perkins+Will, stated that:

Many of the materials we address in the Transparency Site have been opaque to the industry. As architects, we should thoughtfully consider the social and environmental impact of our professional activities, and while there are no perfect building materials, we hope this Transparency Site will aid the building product marketplace in making choices that support the highest ethical intentions.
