Thorntons is giving away 100 personalized boxes of chocolate and a Christmas hamper.

For Thorntons‘ online Christmas campaign, it has launched a Facebook app developed by Michon that features an interactive snowglobe that highlights daily offers and facts about the festive season. The chocolatier is also running a poll and a Christmas memory photo competition.

The Thorntons snowglobe app on Facebook was built in HTML 5 to ensure that it would be viewable on smartphones and other mobile devices. It has three different aspects for online consumers. Firstly, there are daily deals on offer, along with interesting facts about Christmas traditions. Secondly, there is a photo contest, which encourages users to upload a picture of their favorite Christmas memory. Each week, the best ones are chosen and personalized boxes of chocolate are sent to the winners. There is also a poll, where people can vote for the one thing that “Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without…” to be in with a chance of winning a special Christmas hamper.
