PSFK recently attending the Festival of the New Black Imagination, a new platform designed to celebrate the exciting ideas springing forth from 21st century urban cultural producers. The Festival explored what these new possibilities mean and where things are headed through lectures, discussion and performances. The concept, as described on Founder & Chief Curator, Rob Fields’ site:

And it’s no accident that it’s happening in Brooklyn, arguably the epicenter of a global movement—one that impacts other cities across the country as well as Europe and Africa–that drives everything that’s exciting in black culture—convention-defying art that includes music, theater, literature, film, as well as game-changing social innovation.
