A new app uses users' Facebook interests to help them find music, movies, television, books, and games that they're likely to be interested in and suggests upcoming events based on this information.

What’s Next Up is an entertainment aggregator that retrieves and suggests events from all across the world to subscribed users. This personalization service is managed by users’ ‘likes’ on Facebook. When users start watching a new TV show, following another football team or reading a new author, all they need to do is click on the ‘like’ button and the app will automatically fetch the latest entertainment interests and personalize their events accordingly.  Once the Facebook account is linked, What’s Next Up can keep its content personalized even as a user’s entertainment events keep changing in the future. The team that developed the app hopes to build a web app that makes it easier for people to find entertainment they like, so that they can just enjoy themselves without spending precious time sifting through dozens of irrelevant events on tens of websites.
