Walmart has released its first-ever iPad app, one of several mobile products to be developed by its @WalmartLabs group. The application lets customers browse, search and purchase items online, as well as viewing the inventory of their local store.

Walmart's new app, created specifically for the iPad, aims to save its customers time and money. Users can look through the touch-optimized inventories, view the best recent deals, product details, and store-specific information like opening hours and special offers. Customers could use the app to check what's in stock at their local store before leaving the house. Walmart's senior vice president of mobile and digital, Gibu Thomas, said:
