Shopkick is designed to attract more foot traffic to stores by offering consumers rewards points for their visits.

Old Navy has become the latest retail partner of mobile shopping start-up Shopkick, whose iPhone and Android app interacts with technology in stores to offer rewards points called ‘kicks' to shoppers just for walking in.

Simply open the Shopkick app in the entrance area, wait for a few seconds, and the kicks will be added to your account. These can then be redeemed for rewards such as gift cards, restaurant vouchers, Facebook Credits and movie tickets, or donated to a good cause.

Users can collect additional kicks rewards by scanning the barcodes of selected products with their smartphone. The app also features exclusive deals available at Shopkick's eleven retail partners, including Best Buy, Target, Macy's, American Eagle, and Toys ‘R' Us.
