Outdoor Clothing Brand Stages A (Blog) Race To Win Special Edition Parka

Penfield partners with select blogs on a content-based scavenger hunt to win a one-of-a-kind Summit jacket.

Outdoor and performance apparel brand Penfield is celebrating one of their classic pieces – the Summit down insulated jacket – with a web-based ‘Race for the Summit‘ that takes users on a scavenger hunt of sorts to find and win the ultimate Summit down parka (designed specifically for the competition). The game leads participants on a race across hand-selected partner blog sites – ranging from contemporary fashion and creative sites like Ajanaku to outdoor pursuit blogs like Cold Splinters, to international art and culture sites like Contemporary Standard, in order to find clues to answer questions that will get them closer to finding/winning the jacket. Participants start by registering at the competition site.

What we liked about this competition/contest is its using relevant content and passion points to the mutual benefit of both Penfield and the blogs, by capitalizing on each other’s audiences to build awareness and repeat traffic. Additionally, it aligns Penfield with an audience of fashion, design and culture enthusiasts that may not have previously been aware of the brand and its product line.
