While 72% of consumers have seen a QR code, many don't know what they are, and only a third report that scanning them is useful.

A study on the knowledge of and effectiveness of QR codes finds that 3 in 10 don’t understand what it is or don’t use it, and that the majority of users are young (53% aged 18-34), male (60%), and wealthy  (36% with an income of $100,000 or more). Marketing Charts
